“Rotten” Judiciary Must Change

Ordinary people must take heart that the Supreme Court has stood by their earlier indictment of the Allahabad High Court that “some is rotten” there. The last chief justice of India (CJI), K.G. Balakrishnan, has also been linked by a sitting Apex Court justice with the 2G-scam and tainted union minister, A. Raja. Ironically, while still the CJI, Justice Balakrishnan also gave a reprieve to Dr. Ketan Desai through his judgment on February 5, 2009 to allow Dr. Desai re-gain the top post in the Medical Council of India (MCI) only to get caught red-handed by the CBI on April 23, 2010 for taking bribe for granting MCI recognition to a private medical college. Judicial corruption must be eradicated from India to lift the standard of living of the ordinary citizens. Read PBT president Dr. Kunal Saha’s commentary on the rot in our legal system.
