Mamta Banerjee Is Sued For Making Doctor Responsible For Anuradha Saha’s Death As “Chief Advisor” of Healthcare: Supreme Court Is Undermined And Violation Of Fundamental Rights

West Bengal chief minister Mamta Banerjee has been dragged to the court for nominating Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee as the “chief adviser” for the state health department. PBT president, Dr. Kunal Saha, has filed a writ petition in Calcutta High Court yesterday claiming that Banerjee has deliberately tried to glorify Dr. Mukherjee by putting him at the helm of Bengal healthcare system in the most arbitrary manner with a mala fide intention because Dr. Mukhrjee has been held guilty for gross medical negligence causing death of Anuradha Saha, wife of Dr. Kunal Saha, by the Apex Court in 2009 (see copy of the writ petition below).  The Medical Council of India (MCI) also found Dr. Mukherjee guilty for medical negligence and directed the state medical council to cancel his medical registration in 2011.  Dr. Saha has claimed that the Bengal CM’s move to promote Dr. Mukherjee is contemptuous for the Supreme Court and it also violates his rights to life and liberty which is protected under Article 21 of Indian Constitution.
