SC Permits PBT To Approach “Appropriate Forum” For Removal Of Ketan Desai From Gujarat University

The Supreme Court of India passed final order yesterday allowing PBT to move the appropriate forum for removal of disgraced ex-MCI president, Dr. Ketan Desai, from Gujarat University (see SC Order below).  PBT filed a public interest litigation (PIL) against the “unopposed” election of Dr. Desai to the Gujarat University (GU) Senate even after Desai was criminally indicted by the CBI for taking bribes and after cancellation of his medical registration by the Medical Council of India following a complaint from PBT president, Dr. Kunal Saha. PBT will now move the Gujarat Governor, who is also the Chancellor of Gujarat University, seeking immediate removal of Dr. Desai from the GU Senate for his scandalous conduct and criminal indictment that have already resulted cancellation of his medical license and barred him from representing doctors in any medical council or participating as a doctor in a medical conference anywhere.
