Disband And Prosecute Corrupt Members Of West Bengal Medical Council: PBT Sends Demand To Mamta Banerjee

PBT president, Dr. Kunal Saha, has called on West Bengal chief minister, Mamta Banerjee, to investigate the West Bengal Medical Council (WBMC) members for corruption and to change in the council laws to include “non-doctor” members in the council.  The WBMC has refused to cancel registrations of two senior Kolkata doctors, Sukumar Mukherjee and Baidyanath Halder, who were found guilty for medical negligence (for causing death of Anuradha Saha) by the Medical Council of India (MCI) that directed to temporarily suspend the medical registrations of the two doctors.  PBT has also demanded to form a new medical council through a fair and transparent election with participation of all registered doctors (see news below).
